Friday's Ferrari

I photographed this car in the paddock at the SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in June 2008.

It's a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB4 Daytona and is chassis #13607. The 365 GTB4 replaced the 275 GTB4 with the Gioacchino Colombo designed V12 engine from that car bored out to 4,390cc.

Friday's Ferrari

I took this photograph in the paddock at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1995.

It's a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, chassis #13593, and I suspect that it was one of the cars in the Coys auction which took place that weekend. The history of VRY 506H is shown in this undated auction description by Brightwells Classic Motoring Auctions.

Friday's Ferrari

I photographed this car in the paddock at the VSCC's Hawthorn Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in July 2015.

It's a 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona and is chassis #13607. It has a V12 4.4 litre engine, and you can read about the car in the official Ferrari website.

Friday's Ferrari

This is a scene inside a pit garage at Silverstone in July 1999 at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting. All three of these cars took part in the Shell Historic Ferrari Maserati Challenge race.

Car number 95 is the 1972 Ferrari 312P, serial number 0888, of Englebert Stieger. There's no number 95 in the programme of the event but Christoph Stieger was down to drive number 55, a Ferrari 250 GTO, and appears to have driven the 312P instead. Car number 76 is a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4, serial number 16363, owned and driven that day by Nicolaus Springer, who also owned the 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO behind it, serial number 4153GT which was driven in the race by Peter Bradfield and Andrew Hall.

Friday's Ferrari

In August 1996 during a holiday in Scotland we visited the Doune Motor Museum near Stirling, and here's one of the cars that was on display in the museum.

It's a 1973 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona, but there's no other information about it in the brochure of the museum and I can't find out anything else about this particular car.

Friday's Ferrari

This photograph was taken in the pit garage at the Silverstone Classic Racing Festival in July 2010.

It's the 1971 Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona of Steve Tandy which took part in the Italian Historic Car Cup race. Its serial number is 13971 but www.barchetta.cc. doesn't have an individual record for this particular car.

Friday's Ferrari

The Ferrari & Maserati Festival of Racing meeting at Donington Park in May 2003 included a race for older Ferraris. The programme of the event says this about this race:

'Designed to be a couple of pilot races for 2003, the initiative is already a hit and more than 20 classic models will be racing at Donington in the first of the series of races. Generally aimed at pre-1990 cars, the class has drawn into action several stunning 1960s cars including two 250s, the 275 GTB of David Cottingham and the 365GTB4 of Grahame Bryant in the class for the oldest cars. The more developed 308s and 328s that used to rule the roost in the Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge have been given a new home in the Classic series and they have supported the event with enthusiasm. Graham Reeder (328), Duncan McKay (308) and Mike Furness (328) have all taken the chance to race their older cars as well as current cars in the PMFC races. With wonderful models like the Dino 246GT of Colin Campbell and the Testarossa of Ray Hanson also due on the grid, it seems that the Ferrari Formula Classic has really captured the imagination of Ferrari owners!'

There was another Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona in the Ferrari Owners Club car park on the inside of Redgate Corner and this one is serial number 14517.

Friday's Ferrari

This is the 1956 Ferrari 410S of Brazilian Carlos Monteverde seen at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1998. You can read here what the official Ferrari website says about the 410S and this site gives you the history of this particular car which is serial number 0596CM.

Also in this photograph you can see five more Ferraris, (from the left) two 365 Daytona GTB/4s (15667 & 15681), a 500 TRC (0682MDTR), an 860 Monza (0604M) and a 250 GTO (4153GT).
