This car took part in the Shell Ferrari Historical Challenge race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1997.

According to the programme of the event car number 1 is Engelbert Stieger's 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, which was due to be driven in the race by Christoph Stieger, but the number 1 above is Engelbert Stieger's 3 litre 1972 Ferrari 312P, chassis #0888. The 312P was introduced in 1971 and has a 2,991cc flat-12 engine, and it is sometimes referred to as a 312PB to differentiate it from the 1969 312P which had a 2,990cc V12 engine - the 'B' being a reference to the boxer engine of the later car.

Car number 95 is the 1972 Ferrari 312P, serial number #0888, of Englebert Stieger. There's no number 95 in the programme of the event but Christoph Stieger was down to drive number 55, a Ferrari 250 GTO, and appears to have driven the 312P instead. The silver car behind it is Nicolaus Springer’s 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO, serial number #4153GT, which was driven in the race by Peter Bradfield and Andrew Hall with the race number 159.

I took this photograph in the pit lane at Silverstone during a practice session at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting in July 1999.

It's Christoph Stieger in Engelbert Stieger's 1972 Ferrari 312P, chassis number 0888, a car not listed in the programme of the event and Christoph Stieger was down to drive number 55, his Ferrari 250 GTO. The 312P was originally numbered 55 and on 26 June 2015 I showed a photograph of the car I had taken earlier in the day in the pit garage before it had been changed to 95. The car bears the names of Jackie Ickx and Brian Redman who had driven this car in one race in the 1972 World Sportscar Championship season, and in several races in the 1973 season.

The Shell Ferrari Historical Challenge race was a race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1998 that brought together a host of Ferraris ranging from the 1950s to the 1970s with a few Alfa Romeos (ex-Scuderia Ferrari cars) thrown in for good measure. This was one of the later model cars to take part.

It's a 1972 Ferrari 312 P, usually (but unofficially) known as a PB to distinguish this car with a 3 litre flat-12 boxer engine from the 1969 Ferrari 312 P which had a 3 litre V12 engine. The programme of the event shows car 55 to be a Ferrari 250 GTO to be driven by Christoph Stieger, but it looks as if he drove Englebert Stieger's Ferrari 312 P instead. The car is serial number 0888.
