1930 Riley Brooklands

This car took part in two scratch races at the Vintage Sports Car Club’s Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in July 1987 and is here seen at Lodge Corner during one of those races.

It's Neville Farquhar in his 1930 Riley Brooklands with a tuned version of the Riley Nine's 1,087cc 4-cylinder inline engine. The Riley Nine was designed by two of the Riley brothers, Percy and Stanley, and the Brooklands was the work of John G Parry Thomas and Reid Railton who shortened the chassis by some 15 inches and fitted an undershield the full length of the car. The engine had high compression pistons, special camshafts and 2 carburettors, increasing its output to 50bhp.

1928 Riley Brooklands

Riley Brooklands

This car took part in the 2 hour long White House Memorial Pre-War Team Relay race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2007.

It's the 1929 Riley Brooklands of Neil Perkins with what the programme of the event says is a 1,089cc engine, though the Riley Nine engine of the Brooklands is usually quoted as being a 4-cylinder 1,087cc unit.

On 17 January 2015 I showed a photograph of this car, and other Rileys, that I'd taken at Oulton Park in 2015.

Peugeot 148

This car took part in a 4 lap handicap race at the VSCC's Boulogne and Hawthorn Trophies Race Meeting at Oulton Park in May 2005.

It's the 1913 Peugeot 148 of Clive Press, originally built with a 4,536cc 4-cylinder engine, but now with a 9,934cc 4-cylinder Hall-Scott A-7 aero engine.

Rileys at Oulton Park (4)

On 10 February 2016 I showed some photographs of Rileys in action at the VSCC's Hawthorn Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in July 2015, and here are the remaining photographs I took of Rileys on the track at that meeting.
