Formula Ford Racing

This is a photograph that I took at the Knickerbrook chicane during the HSCC Historic Formula Ford race at the Historic Sports Car Club's Summer Race Meeting at Oulton Park in July 1992.
Leading is Gary Pearson in his 1971 Merlyn Mk20 followed by the 1971 Crossle 20F of Mike Whatley and the 1969 Lotus 61 of Simon Hadfield.

1969 Lotus 61

This was one of the competitors in the HSCC Legends Racing Historic Formula Ford race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2005.
It’s the 1969 Lotus 61 of Dick Dixon and has a 1,599cc 4-cylinder inline Ford Kent engine that was originally developed for the 1959 Ford Anglia, and styling reminiscent of the Lotus 56 which contested the 1968 Indianapolis 500 race. The car number 6 alongside is another Lotus 61, that of Neil Davies.

1954 Maserati 250F

I took this photograph in the paddock at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2002.
It's the 1954 Maserati 250F of Dieter Streve-Mülhens, chassis 2501/2523 (they had a habit of swapping the Maserati 250F chassis numbers about). Behind that car is the number 27 1954 Maserati A6GCM of David Bennett which is chassis 2044, and the number 5 sports car is Mark Clubb's 1959 Cooper T49 Monaco, chassis CM/6/59. The number 61 on the left of the photograph is the 1969 Lotus 61 of Dieter Streve-Mülhens.

1966 Cooper BRM

This car competed in the HSCC Classic Racing Cars race at the HSCC's Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2004.
It's Paul Busby's 1966 Cooper T82 BRM, chassis #F2-2-66, originally built by Cooper as a Formula 2 car for Jo Bonnier Racing with a 996cc inline-4 BRM P80 F2 engine. It was driven by Jo Bonnier himself, and by Jo Siffert and Giancarlo Baghetti amongst others in European F2 races in 1966.
Here's Paul Busby at Foulstons chicane during the race followed by the 1963 Brabham BT6 of Ned Spieker, the 1969 Merlyn Mk11a of Mike Bromley and the 1969 Lotus 61 of Alan Hicks.

On 2 April 2015 I showed photographs of this car at Oulton Park in 2002.

Lotus 61

This car took part in the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship Race at the Historic Sports Car Club's race meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.
It's Bryan Haywood's 1969 Lotus 61 with a 1,600cc 4 cylinder inline Ford Kent engine that was originally developed for the 1959 Ford Anglia, and styling reminiscent of the Lotus 56 which contested the 1968 Indianapolis 500 race. This particular car is chassis #61-FF-200 and was offered for auction in 2012 by Silverstone Auctions.
