1967 Lancia Fulvia Sport

This car competed in the HSCC Historic Roadsports Championship Race at the Historic Sports Car Club's race meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.

It's Julian Peirson's 1967 Lancia Fulvia Sport 1.3, and it's a Series I model with a 1,298cc V4 engine. The Fulvia Sport had a fastback body designed and made by Zagato - the programme of the event lists it as a Lancia Fulvia Zagato - and was mechanically based on the Fulvia Coupé.

Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint

This car took part in the HSCC/HRSR Alexander Forbes Historic Racing Saloon Championship Race at the HSCC's Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.

It's Andrew Colley's 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint with what the programme of the event says is a 2,000cc engine, presumably the 1,962cc inline-4 twin cam unit that was fitted to the later 2000 GT Veloce. The car is pictured here at Lodge Corner during the race.

Little and Large

I took this photograph at Lodge Corner during the Historic Racing Saloons Championship Race at the HSCC's Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.

Number 88 is the 1,293cc 1966 Morris Cooper S of Norman Grimshaw, and number 8 is the 4,727cc 1965 Ford Mustang of Peter Hallford. I don't know who's overtaking who here - the Minis had a reputation for lagging behind the larger engined cars on the straights then overtaking them when they got to the corners.

Lotus 61

This car took part in the HSCC Historic Formula Ford Championship Race at the Historic Sports Car Club's race meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.

It's Bryan Haywood's 1969 Lotus 61 with a 1,600cc 4 cylinder inline Ford Kent engine that was originally developed for the 1959 Ford Anglia, and styling reminiscent of the Lotus 56 which contested the 1968 Indianapolis 500 race. This particular car is chassis #61-FF-200 and was offered for auction in 2012 by Silverstone Auctions.

Two Brabhams

These two cars competed in the HSCC Classic Racing Cars Championship Race at the HSCC's Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in June 2001.

This is David Newton's 1,498cc 1965 Brabham BT14. The BT14 was intended for Formula Libre racing and 10 examples of the car were produced in 1965/66. I've seen that this car is claimed to be chassis #FL-9-65, but that seems unlikely looking at the recorded history of that car.

This car is the 1,600cc 1965 Brabham BT16 of Cliff Giddens, a car intended for Formula 2 racing, and appears to be chassis #F2-7-65.
