I took this photograph on the
Exchange Station car park in Manchester of a car about to start the Manchester
to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Run in June 1992.
It's a 1929 Morris Cowley
14/28 Flatnose - so called to differentiate it from the more well-known
Bullnose. Cowley was a suburb of Oxford where the manufacture of Morris cars
started in 1919 and the names 'Cowley' and 'Oxford' were used for a variety of
Morris vehicles from that time up until the 1970s. The programme of the event
says that it was entered for the Run by Mark Lewis of Crumpsall, Manchester.
