The Coys International
Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1997 featured a display of
Ferraris in the paddock some of which took part in demonstration runs around
the circuit during the meeting. This car wasn’t in the special display and neither
did it compete at the meeting, it was just lined up in the paddock alongside
various other cars.
It’s the Fantuzzi bodied 1959
Ferrari Dino 246 S prototype, chassis 0794TR, then owned by Steve O’Rourke and has a 2,417cc V6
engine. It competed as a works car in the 1960 Targa Florio and Nürburgring
1000km race then was sold to Luigi Chinetti in the USA.
