Morris LD

The vehicle shown below was one of the entrants in the Trans Lancs Historic Vehicle Rally at Heaton Park, Manchester in September 1996.

It's a 1965 Morris LD with Wadham Stringer ambulance body and was entered in the rally by J.Murphy of Fazakerley, Liverpool. There's no other information about it in the programme of the event, but I understand that it is believed to be an ex-Liverpool ambulance.

The Morris LD was produced by the British Motor Corporation in conjunction with the Austin 1000/1500kg van which both used the Austin 2.2 litre petrol engine. The Morris LD was preceded by the Morris Commercial PV and succeeded by the BMC 350 EA.
