AC Cars

I took this photograph at the Northern Classic Car Show at Belle Vue, Manchester in September 1986.
It's the stand of the AC Owners Club and in the catalogue of the event this information is given about the car on the left-hand side:

'Bodo Linnhoff's immaculate 1957 Ace-Bristol is a fine example of the car whose competition record in the '50s and early '60s was so outstanding that it was eventually penalised by being made to run in larger engine capacity classes than its 1700cc would warrant'

The AC Ace, of course, with the addition of the Ford V8 engine became the AC Cobra.

The car next to it is not mentioned in the show catalogue, but is either a 12hp or 16hp from the 1920s. On the extreme right you can see the rear-end of an AC Greyhound, but more of that some time in the future.
