1969 Mallock Mk 9

This car competed in the Historic Formula Ford race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2017.
It's the 1969 Mallock Mk 9 of Alan Cooke, the last of a series of race cars produced by Arthur Mallock. After building a series of specials based on the Austin 7, Arthur Mallock produced the U2 Mk1 with a Ford 1,172cc engine for 1172 Formula racing, and further models were produced until 1971 for the 1172 Formula,  Formula Junior, and for Clubmans racing.

Friday's Ferrari

I took this photograph at the Ferrari Racing Days meeting at Silverstone in September 2017.
It's a 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena, a car that was introduced in 1999 replacing the Ferrari F355 and was superseded by the Ferrari F430 in 2004. It has the 3,586cc Ferrari F131 V8 engine with twin overhead camshafts per bank and five valves per cylinder.

1956 Gordini T16

This is a photograph that I took during the HGPCA Race for Pre-1961 Grand Prix Cars at the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association race meeting at Donington Park in May 2004.
It’s the 1956 Gordini T16 of Belgian driver Marc Valvekens which has a six-cylinder inline 2½ litre engine. Amédée Gordini competed in Grand Prix racing between 1950 and 1956, and also in sports car racing, with cars bearing the Gordini name and later became a performance tuner of Renault and Alpine cars. Gordini is now a division of Renault Sport.

1989 Midas Gold Convertible

I took these photographs in the paddock at the Aston Martin Owners Club’s meeting at Oulton Park in April 2017.
It’s a 1989 Midas Gold Convertible which has a 1,275cc BMC A-series engine. The DVLA record says that the car has been untaxed since August 2025 and has a SORN. There's a Midas Owners Club for owners and enthusiasts.

1956 Maserati 200SI

This is a photograph that I took at the Silverstone Classic meeting in July 2010 where the car was driven by Gordon McCullough and Andrew Newall in the one hour long Sir Stirling Moss Trophy for 50s Sportscars race.
Originally a Fiandri-bodied works 200S, chassis 2408,, it was rebodied late in 1956 to 200SI specifications and sold to Brazilian Severino Silva, later spending 30 years in a museum. It was acquired by Gordon McCullough in 2008 and the programme of the event says that it has a 2,500cc engine, so I suppose it should really be called a 250SI.

1926 Sunbeam 3-litre

This is a photograph that I took at the Lancashire Automobile Club's Manchester to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Run in June 1975 at the junction of Peter Street and Lower Mosley Street.
It’s the 1926 Sunbeam 3-litre of A. Heib, but there are no other details in the programme of the event. The programme of the 1972 Run had this note about the car:

Mr. Andrew Heib, Greenmount, Bury, Lancashire.
1926 Sunbeam 3-litre Sports Tourer, 2,916 c.c.
A regular entrant on the Run and winner of the Daily Telegraph Challenge Trophy in 1970.
