Embraer ERJ-145LU

Eastern Airways flight BE2994 from Glasgow to Manchester at 12:04pm on 19 November 2017 passing over Hyde a few minutes before landing at Manchester Airport.

It's an Embraer ERJ-145LU and the registration mark is G-CISK

BRM P261

This was one of the cars competing in the HGPCA Pre-1966 GP Cars Race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2006.

It's the 1,498cc V8 1964 BRM P261 of Richard Attwood. On 10 May 2017 I showed a photograph of two of these cars at Silverstone in 1999, one of which was chassis P261/5. The madasafish.com website gives details of all the P261 cars, and this one appears to be chassis P261/7.

Jowett 8hp

This vehicle took part in the Greater Manchester Transport Society's Trans Lancs Historic Vehicle Rally at Heaton Park, Manchester in September 1998.

It's the 1937 Jowett 8hp Dropside Pick-up of Michael Fishwick and has a 946cc side-valve flat twin engine. The programme of the event said this about the vehicle:

Chevrolet Corvette

This car took part in the RAC Tourist Trophy Race for Historic Cars at the Silverstone Classic meeting of July 2010.

It's the 1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1 driven in the hour long race by Bernie Chodosh and John Young. According to the programme of the event it had a 4,700cc engine, which probably means that it was the 283 cu in small-block V8 which actually equates to 4,638cc. The car warranted a note in the programme on the page about the TT race: 'Finally, don't look for it, you will hear it first! Keep an ear open for the enthusiastically driven Corvette of Bernie Chodosh.'

Aston Martin DB2

This car is approaching Lodge Corner during the Pre-1959 Aston Martin Race at the Aston Martin Owners Club's Historic Car Races meeting at Oulton Park in September 1986.

It's the 1952 Aston Martin DB2 of Martin Cheetham. The DB2 had a 2,580cc straight-6 engine, and it was produced between 1950 and 1953 before being superseded by the DB2/4. Martin Cheetham's car is chassis LML/50/201, and you can read this description of the car when it was offered for sale by Car & Classic on behalf of the Dutch Houtkamp Collection.

Friday's Ferrari

This car competed in a Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2004.

It's the 2 litre V6 1964 Ferrari Dino 206S of Harry Leventis and you can see the official Ferrari overview of the car here. The car is chassis #0834, and on 7 September 2012 I showed a photograph of this car that I took during the race. On 17 February 2017 I showed a photograph that I took of the car at Silverstone in July 2010.

Mercedes-Benz 280SL

Here are a couple of photographs I took of a car earlier this year in a car park in Hyde.

It's a Mercedes-Benz 280SL, the largest capacity variant of the W113 model. It had a 2,778cc inline 6-cylinder M130 engine and was in production from 1967 to 1971.
