Friday's Ferrari

Another of the Ferraris taking part in the AMOC Intermarque Championship race at the Aston Martin Owners Club meeting at Oulton Park in May 2015.

This is Tristan Simpson's 1995 Ferrari F355 Challenge. Henry Ford is reputed to have said 'Any colour you like as long as it's black' when talking about the Model T Ford. With Ferrari you expect it to be 'Any colour you like as long as it's red'.

Chevrolet Camaro

Here's another car I saw recently coming out of the Shell filling station in Hyde

It's a second generation Chevrolet Camaro with 'The Bootlegger' painted on the side of the car. On searching the internet for any information about this car it seems that 'The Bootlegger' is a reference to the Lunati Bootlegger camshaft which this car presumably has fitted.

Arnolt Bristol

Here's a couple of cars in the area in the infield set aside for displays by various car clubs at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 2000.

They're Arnolt Bristols, cars constructed by S H Arnold Inc of Indiana using the chassis and 2 litre 6-cylinder engine of the Bristol 404 with a body designed by Franco Scaglione and built by Carrozzeria Bertone. Stanley Arnolt's team of Arnolt Bristols had some success, winning the Sports 2000 class at the Sebring 12 hour race three times in the mid-1950s.

Brabham BT5

This car took part in the 2 hour long Sports Racing Masters Race at the SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2006.

It's a 1963 Brabham BT5, and John Delane & Andy Willis shared the driving in this race. This car shared many components with the single-seat cars being built by Brabham at that time and it was powered by a 1600cc Ford Cosworth engine. Only two of the BT5 models were built before Ron Tauranac developed the BT8 the following season to accommodate a larger engine.

Austin Healey Sebring Sprite

I photographed this car at the HSCC's Spring Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in May 1987 where it took part in the HSCC Pre '60 Sports Car Championship race.

Alfa Romeo T33.2

This was one of the cars taking part in the Coys of Kensington 80th Anniversary Trophy for Pre-1972 Le Mans Cars race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1999.

It's Paul Osborn's 1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2, named the 'Daytona' after Udo Schütz and Nino Vaccarella won the 2 litre class and finished fifth overall in the 1968 Daytona 24 Hour race.

Infiniti Q50

I noticed this car recently when walking back home from Hyde town centre after doing a bit of shopping.

It's an Infiniti Q50, from the luxury vehicle division of Nissan, and I thought at first it might be the hybrid version, but it's the Mercedes-Benz diesel engined 2.2d. I can't say that I've noticed one before on the streets of Hyde.
