1934/35 Riley ERA

This car was entered in the Oulton Park Trophy race at the Vintage Sports Car Club's meeting at Oulton Park in May 2019.

It's the 1934/35 Riley ERA of David Hawkins and was driven that day by James Baxter. Originally a 4-cylinder inline 1½ litre 1934 Riley 12/4 it was given a 6-cylinder 1,981cc ERA engine at some time in the 1980s.

Here's James Baxter at Knickerbrook during the morning practice session when he qualified in third position on the grid, but unfortunately during the race failed to complete the first lap.
