I took this photograph at the Donington Park Museum in September 2014.
The McLaren M21 was designed
and developed by Ralph Bellamy to compete in the European Formula Two
Championship in 1972 and had a 4-cylinder inline 2 litre Ford-Cosworth BDF
engine. It was driven by South African Jody Scheckter and won one race, at
Crystal Palace, with Scheckter eventually scoring 15 points to finish in 8th-place
in the Championship. The car pictured here was converted for use in the British Formula Atlantic series in 1975, but converted back to Formula 2 specifications before it went to the Donington Park Museum. The oldracingcars.com site shows it as 'the Steve Prior car'.
