I photographed this car in the Exchange Station car park in Manchester before the start of the Manchester to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Run in May 1987.
It's a 1913 De Dion Bouton, and the programme of the event said this about the car:

Very original car with channel steel frame and
honeycomb radiator. The gearbox is unusual -
reverse is an extension of first, which you must
go through to obtain reverse.
