1961 Maserati 3500GT

I photographed this car in the Maserati Club's area at the Christie's International Historical Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1992.
It's a 1961 Maserati 3500GT, a model that was produced between 1959 and 1964, and was powered by the 6-cylinder inline 3,485cc Tipo 101 engine developed from that of the Maserati 350S racing car of 1956. The coachwork was designed by Carrozzeria Touring and the car had an aluminium body attached to a tubular steel frame.

1964 Maserati 3500GT

This car was parked in the Maserati Owners Club area in the paddock at the Silverstone Historic Festival meeting in August 2001.
It's a 1964 Maserati 3500GT a car with a 6-cylinder inline 3,485cc engine that was supplied to its first owner in South Africa with the standard Touring Bodywork. About a year later he commissioned local coachbuilder Pierino Scalco to clothe it in this new bodywork using components imported from Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Italy to create this unique machine.

Maserati 3500 GT

This car was in the Maserati Club's display area at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1993.
It's a Maserati 3500 GT and the registration plate appears to be from the Republic of Ireland. The 3500GT was produced by Maserati from 1957 to 1964 with a 3½ litre straight-6 engine and a body designed by Carrozzeria Touring. This particular car's chassis number is 101-1172.

Maserati 3500GT

This car competed in the HSCC Miller Oils Classic Sports Car Championship Race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2004.
It's Bob Gilbert's 1961 Maserati 3500GT. Maserati had produced the A6 series of road cars between 1947 and 1956, but only a limited number of cars were built - less than 150 in total - due to Maserati's preoccupation with the Formula 1 and Sports Racing car programme. The 3500GT was, therefore, Maserati's first attempt at building a series production car and 2,226 were built between 1957 and 1964.
