1953 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT

This was one of the competitors in the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy for Historic Cars race at the Silverstone Classic meeting in July 2010.
It’s a 1953 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT which was driven in the race by Jason and Louise Kennedy. The B20 Series I car was introduced in 1951 with a 1,991cc V6 engine, followed by the Series II car, which were produced between 1952 and 1953 and which had a more powerful version of the same engine. The series III car was introduced in 1954 with a 2,451cc V6 engine but the programme of the event says that this car has a 2,541cc unit, possibly a misprint as the DVLA record for 609 UPH says the engine capacity is 2,451cc.

Lancia Aurelia B20

I photographed this car in one of the car parks at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1994.
It's a 1958 Lancia Aurelia B20, one of the 18,201 made between 1950 and 1958. This car has a 2½ litre engine, the largest of the four V6 engines that were available for this model.

I've featured the Lancia Aurelia B20 three times previously, on 11 August 2014, 20 May 2015 and 9 July 2017.

Lancia Aurelia B20 GT

This car was in the Paddock at the VSCC's Hawthorn Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in June 2008.
It's a 1954 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT and I took the photograph because it's a car that you don't see very often, even at historic race meetings. It has a 2½ litre V6 engine, and what's particularly special about this one is that it was once owned by the 1958 World Champion Mike Hawthorn himself. You can read about Mike and the car in this Mike Hawthorn tribute site.

Lancia Aurelia

Here are a couple of photographs I took at the Oulton Park Gold Cup meeting in August 2004 showing two cars which competed in the HSCC Historic Road Sports Championship Race.
Both Lancia Aurelia B20s, the one on the left is Chris Gawne's 1953 Series III model, and the one on the right is Tim Burrett's 1952 Series II model. I've featured Chris Gawne's car previously, in August 2014 with a photograph I took of it in a distressed condition at the auction associated with the Northern Classic Car Show in September 1985.
Here's Tim Burrett during the race at the Foulstons chicane leading the Jaguar XK120 of Dick Skipworth and the Ginetta G15 of Mark Wilson.

Lancia Aurelia B20 GT

I went to quite a few of the Northern Classic Car Shows in Manchester in the 1980s and early 1990s, first at one of the old Belle Vue exhibition halls and later at the G-MEX Centre, formerly the Manchester Central railway station (not 'train' station) and now the Manchester Central Convention Complex. These shows usually included an auction of vehicles and today's photograph is of a rather dilapidated Lancia Aurelia B20 GT amongst the auction lots at the Belle Vue show in September 1985.
There are three photographs of a Lancia Aurelia with the number plate OFV 570 on Flickr, though it's now painted green, the car seems to have lost its distinctive mesh radiator grille and there are also minor changes to the lower part of the front of the car. One of the photographs says that the car is a 1953 model and another says it's from 1958 - I'd guess it's the older model.
