1929 Alvis Silver Eagle

This is one of the cars that took part in the Lancashire Automobile Club's Manchester to Blackpool Veteran and Vintage Car Run in June 1977.

It's the 1929 Alvis Silver Eagle of Mr M.O.Attock and the programme of the event had this note about the car:

151     Mr. M.O.Attock, Bradford.

           1929 Alvis Silver Eagle, 17 h.p. 6-cylinder, 2148c.c.

This car has been used by Mr. Attock as a normal family motor car for the last 39 years. It was used in the James Herriot film "All Things Bright and Beautiful".

1930 Alvis Silver Eagle

I took these photographs in one of the pit garages at the Vintage Sports Car Club's meeting at Oulton Park in May 2019.

It's James Mac Hulbert's 1930 Alvis Silver Eagle receiving some attention early in the morning prior to the start of the day's activities where it was driven by Edward Williams. The programme of the event says that it has a 2,580cc supercharged engine.

1931/36 Alvis Silver Eagle

This car competed in a Four Lap Handicap Race and a Ten Lap Scratch Race for Pre-War Racing Cars at the Vintage Sports Car Club's meeting at Oulton Park in August 1996.

It's James Broomfield's 1931/36 Alvis Special which seems to be a 1931 Alvis Speed 20 SA with the 3,571cc engine from a 1936 Alvis Speed 25. There's a short note in the programme of the event that says:

'James Broomfield has the single-seater Silver Eagle Alvis with a Speed 25 engine converted by Tony Bianchi.'

ERA R4D

Here's a photograph taken in the paddock at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Donington Park in June 2003.

The car nearest the camera is Mac Hulbert's 1935 ERA R4D which took part in the Historic Seaman Trophy race, as did the car furthest away, the 1938 ERA E-Type GP1 of Duncan Ricketts. You can read the history of all the ERA cars here. The car in the middle is Chris Podger's 1930 Alvis Silver Eagle which competed in one of the handicap races at this meeting.
