VSCC Racing

I took this photograph at the start of a scratch race at the Vintage Sports Car Club's Hawthorn Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in July 2015.

The blue car leading is the 1934 Frazer Nash Norris Special of Julian Grimwade ahead of, on the left, Tony Lees in the 1925 AC/GN Cognac. The red car behind the Norris Special is the 1935 Wolseley Hornet Special of Tim Greenhill with Christian Pedersen bringing up the rear in his 1932 Austin 7 Special, 'Miss Green'.

AC/GN

This car took part in the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophy Race for Vintage Racing Cars at the VSCC's meeting at Oulton Park in June 1993.

It's listed in the programme of the event as a 1,998cc 1924/28 AC/GN, known as 'Beetle', owned by Freddie Giles and driven in the race by his son Jonathan Giles.

AC/GN

This is a car which competed in the Richard Seaman Memorial Vintage Trophy Race at the VSCC meeting at Oulton Park in June 1982.

It's a 1925 AC/GN, known as the Cognac Special, and was driven in the race by Ron Footitt. This is one of several Specials that were constructed in the 1920s and 30s using the chassis of a GN Cyclecar and either an AC or a Frazer Nash engine. The programme of the event said this about the car:

'In pole position is Ron Footitt's AC-engined GN, the Cognac Special, which had the bad luck to retire when leading the John Holland Trophy race at Donington Park last month while fleeing from hordes of thundering Bentleys. It was the GN, not the AC, part which went wrong when vital parts of the transmission failed to transmit.'

This is Ron Footitt during the race and I think it's on the straight approaching Lodge Corner.
