This is a photograph I took at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1994.
It's one of the three Alfa
Romeo BAT cars produced between 1953 and 1955, BAT 5, BAT 7 and BAT 9, and this
is the 1955 car, BAT 9. They were part of the Coys auction which was held on
the Saturday evening of the weekend-long meeting. The BAT here stands for
Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica and the cars were built in a joint project by
Alfa Romeo and the Italian coachbuilding firm Bertone, being largely the
brainchild of Franco Scaglione of Bertone.
