1978 Pontiac Firebird

This car competed in the HSCC 70s Roadsports Championship Race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2005.
It's the 1978 Pontiac Firebird of Neville Day and has a 400 cu in (6.6 litres) V8 engine. The car is pictured at Britten's chicane and is followed by what looks like a Lotus 7 (there were two in the race) and the 1976 Morgan Plus 8 of Philip McKelvey.

Pontiac Firebird

The Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2004 included the HSCC 70's Roadsports Championship Race for the Wespray Castings Trophy, and the competitors included this car.
This is a 1978 Pontiac Firebird at Foulstons (now Britten's) chicane during the race, the entrant and driver being Robin Gray according to the programme of the event, although this Pontiac Owners Club website says that the owner was Neville Day. The car is shown in the programme as having a 6,600cc engine, so it's the Pontiac 400 cu in V8 unit.
