The Flockhart Trophy Race

I took this photograph at Redgate corner on the first lap of the Flockhart Trophy Race at Donington Park at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting in June 2008.

Leading is Philip Walker in his 1959 2½ litre Lotus 16 from the 1957 2 litre Cooper T43 of Andrew Smith. Behind them is the 1958 3.8 litre Lister Jaguar Monza of Rod Jolley, and at the rear is Hubert Fabri's 1957 3 litre Aston Martin DBR4 just behind Ian Nuthall's 1952 2 litre Alta F2.

Alta F2

This is one of the cars that took part in the HGPCA Pre-1961 Grand Prix Cars race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2002.

Shown in the programme of the event as Ian Nuthall's 1952 Alta F2, it's probably the same car that he drove at the 2004 Gold Cup meeting when the entrant was shown as Martin Grant Peterkin. This car has the 4-cylinder inline 1,980cc Alta engine that was better known for powering the HWM cars in the 1952 and 1953 World Championship seasons.

Alta F2

This car took part in the HGPCA pre 1961 Front Engined Grand Prix Cars race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2004.

It's the 1952 Alta F2 of Martin Grant-Peterkin, driven in the race by Ian Nuthall. Although there are cosmetic differences it seems to be the same car that I featured on 21 January 2016, showing it at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in July 1987.
