1959 Ford Anglia 100E

This is a photograph that I took at the Northern Classic Car Show at G-Mex, Manchester in August 1987.
It's a 1959 Ford Anglia 100E which has a 4-cylinder inline 1,172cc sidevalve engine. The Ford Anglia was produced from 1939 to 1968 with four different models, the 100E being the third of these, 345,841 of which were built between 1953 and 1959.

Ford Cortina & Ford Anglia

These two cars competed in the HSCC/HRSR "ByBox" Historic Saloon Car Championship race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2008.
On the left is the 1964 1,498cc 4-cylinder in-line Ford Cortina GT of Joe Allenby-Byrne. The race was scheduled to last for 40 minutes and entrants had the option of nominating two drivers, but this car appears to have had only the single driver. The car on the right is the 1958 Ford Anglia 100E driven by Ed and Chris Glaister, but the programme of the event shows it to have a 1,100cc engine instead of the 1,172cc 4-cylinder in-line 100E engine usually fitted to these cars.
