1970 BRM P153

This was one of the competitors in the F.O.R.C.E.Pre-1972 Classic Grand Prix Cars race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1999.
It's a BRM P153 which was designed by Tony Southgate and had BRM's own 2,998cc V12 engine. The P153 was campaigned by the BRM team from 1970 to 1972, but its only victory was in the 1970 Belgian Grand Prix driven by Pedro Rodriguez. The car at this Silverstone meeting was driven by Bobby Bell and appears to be chassis P153/04.

1970 BRM P153

This car is leaving the pit lane during the qualifying session for the Silverstone International Trophy Race for Pre 1978 Grand Prix Cars at the Silverstone Historic Festival meeting in August 2001.
It's Bobby Bell in the 1970 BRM P153, chassis P153/04 that was raced by Jackie Oliver in the 1970 racing season. The car was designed by Tony Southgate, was powered by the 2,9982cc BRM P142 V12 engine, and after the 1970 season it competed in a variety of races until 1981. During the last five years of that period it was owned by Bell & Colvill and driven by Bobby Bell who drove it at this Silverstone meeting.

BRM P153

The Silverstone Historic Festival of 2001 was a 3-day event, from Saturday 25th August to the Bank Holiday Monday on the 27th. The penultimate race on the Monday was the Silverstone International Trophy Race for Pre-1978 Grand Prix Cars, and the car pictured below took part in that race.
It's the 1970 3 litre V12 BRM P153 of Bobby Bell, chassis number P153/04. On 21 February 2015 I showed a photograph of Mike Littlewood's BRM P153 at the Donington Park SeeRed meeting of September 2006.

Alfa Romeo T33

This is a photograph of a car that took part in the Visage Pre '72 Le Mans Car Race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in August 1996.
It's Bobby Bell's 1971 Alfa Romeo T33 TT, presumably the TT3, which you can read about here.

More Ford GT40s

I've featured the Ford GT40 previously and here are three photographs of cars in Gulf livery taken at the Coys International Historic Festival meetings at Silverstone in 1994, 1998 and 1999.
This is Martin Colvill's car which took part in the Motor Sport Pre-'70 Le Mans Car Race at the 1994 meeting, sharing the driving with John Fitzpatrick. Car number 89 alongside is the Ford GT40 of Bobby Bell.
The 1998 meeting celebrated 50 years of racing at Silverstone and there was a special display featuring a car for each of those 50 years. This is the car representing 1969 and the programme of the event says that it's the Ford GT40 of Martin Colvill, although it doesn't seem to be the same car he raced in 1994. It's not listed in the programme as taking part in any of the races at this meeting.
In 1999 Martin Colvill entered this car in the Coys of Kensington 80th Anniversary Trophy for Pre-1972 Le Mans Cars race, and it seems to be the same car I'd photographed the previous year. The programme has it listed as 'Ford GT40 P1084', the '1084' presumably being the serial number of the car as detailed here.
