The Coys International Historic Festival meetings at Silverstone always had a large variety of not just Vintage, Veteran and Historic competition vehicles, but displays of vehicles from a large variety of car clubs, and commercial and public transport vehicles as well. The photograph below shows one of the commercial vehicles that was present at the 1995 event.
I've always called these 'steam traction engines', but they are also known as 'road locomotives' and this one is a 1912 Burrell which has been given the name 'The Dalesman'. This engine was supplied to J Hancock and Son, brick makers, of Exeter and was originally named 'City of Exeter', being renamed 'The Dalesman' when it was later restored.
