Reliant Kitten

I took the photographs of this car in a local supermarket car park in August last year.

It's a 1976 Reliant Kitten Estate, a car produced from 1975 to 1982 with Reliant's own light alloy 4 cylinder inline 848cc engine.

There's a Reliant Kitten Register for owners of all 4 wheel under 1 litre Reliant cars.

On 31 December 2016 I showed photographs of a Reliant Kitten, and other Reliants, at the Footman James Classic Car Show Manchester in 2016.

Tec-Mec Maserati F415

This was one of the competitors in the Ron Flockhart Memorial Trophy Race for Pre 61 Racing Cars at the VSCC's Richard Seaman Memorial Trophy meeting at Donington Park in May 2001.

It's the 1959 Tec-Mec F415, the last evolution of the Maserati 250F which had begun with the start of the 2½ litre F1 Formula in 1954. The car only competed in one World Championship race - the 1959 USA Grand Prix - retiring very early in that race, and its full history was related by Bonhams when it was offered for auction in 2003. The car was entered for this Donington Park race in 2001 by Barrie Baxter.

Alfa Romeo TZ

This was one of the cars offered in the auction that took place during the weekend of the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1993.

It's an Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ, a car developed by Alfa Romeo in conjunction with Autodelta and had a 1,570cc four cylinder inline twin-cam engine. The original model, sometimes known as the TZ1, was produced from 1963 to 1965 when a revised model, the TZ2, was introduced.

On 14 December 2014 I showed a photograph of 3 Alfa Romeos, including a 1965 TZ2, at the 1995 Coys meeting at Silverstone.

Oulton Park Gold Cup 2017

Here are some photographs taken at Britten's chicane during the 40 minute long Jaguar Classic Challenge race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2017. Some cars had a second driver nominated as there were compulsory stops to allow for driver changes during the race.

Aston Martin DB2/4

This car competed in the 20 minute long Pre-1961 Sports & GT Cars Race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in May 2011.

It's Mark Campbell's 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 which according to the programme of the event has a 2,988cc engine. The DB2/4 was introduced in 1953, originally with a 2,580cc engine, later models having a 2,922cc unit. A revised Mark II version was introduced in 1955.

On 3 October 2015 I showed a photograph of another Aston Martin DB2/4 that took part in this race - that one being driven by James Cambell. Presumably there's some family connection there.

Friday's Ferrari

This was one of the many Ferraris present at the Ferrari Racing Days meeting at Silverstone in September 2017.

It's a 2016 Ferrari 488 GTB, a car introduced in 2015 and which is powered by the Ferrari F154 CB twin turbo 3,902cc V8 engine.

Leyland Titan PD2/11

This bus is pictured in Heaton Park, Manchester where it took part in the Greater Manchester Transport Society's Trans Lancs Historic Vehicle Rally in September 1998.

It's an ex-Leeds Corporation Transport 1955 Leyland Titan PD2/11 with a Roe H33/25R body and the Leyland O.600 straight-six 9.8 litre diesel engine. The programme of the event said this about the vehicle:

New to Leeds Corporation Transport this is a very rare model of which only 20 were built, all 20 being supplied to Leeds, fitted with semi-automatic pneumocyclic transmission and air brakes. Bought for preservation in 1982 from a gliding club who were about to convert it to a towing winch. Now restored to mid 60's livery with period adverts.
