1955 Jaguar D-Type

I took this photograph in the paddock at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2003.
It's Benjamin Eastick's 1955 Jaguar D-Type which was built in the 1970's from genuine Jaguar D-type parts and has chassis number XKD 133, but never ran in period. Neither the chassis number nor the registration number 207 RW show up in the coventryracers.com search site. It has the 6-cylinder inline 3,442cc Jaguar XK engine.

1955 Aston Martin DB3S

This car competed in the 1950s Sports Racing Cars race at the Vintage Sports Car Club's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in June 2008.
It's the 1955 Aston Martin DB3S of Hubert Fabri with the 6-cylinder inline 2,922cc Lagonda engine and body designed by Frank Feely. It's one of the DB3S customer cars, chassis DB3S/102, and was originally one of three cars provided for Australian Tony Gaze's Kangaroo Stable. Behind the Aston Martin is Benjamin Eastick's Jaguar D-Type, looking like a 1955 car but apparently created from D-Type parts in the 1970s and has chassis number XKD 133.

Crowded Pit Lane

I took this photograph at the Vintage Sports Car Club's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in May 2008.
It's a line of cars in the pit lane waiting for a practice session for the BRDC Historic Sports Car race to begin. Number 78 is the 1955 Jaguar D-Type of Benjamin Eastick and is chassis XKD 133, not a genuine 1955 car but apparently constructed in the 1970s using genuine Jaguar D-Type parts. I showed photographs of  this car on 11 July 2017. The car in front of the D-Type is Barry Wood's 1959 3.8 litre Jaguar-engined Lister Knobbly, and is chassis BHL 117, a car I featured on 31 October 2017. In front of that is the Cooper T39 Bobtail of John Clark who shared the driving in the one hour long race with (I think) Emma-Jane Gilbart-Smith, and I showed a photograph of this car on 13 March 2018.

Jaguar D-Type

I took the photographs of this car in the pit garage and pit lane at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in June 2008.
This car is a bit of a conundrum. It's Benjamin Eastick's 1955 Jaguar D-Type, but according to the programme of the event it was number 9 in the BRDC Historic Sportscars race. Twelve of these Jaguar D-Type Longnose cars were apparently made, six as works cars and six customer cars. This car is chassis XKD 133 and isn't one of the works cars so is presumably a customer car, but I can't find out any other information about it - neither the chassis number nor the registration number 207 RW turn up anything in the Jaguar Sports Racer Search site.
 What a beautiful car though!
