1972 Surtees TS11

This was one of the competitors in the Derek Bell Trophy race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2008.
It's Gregory Thornton at Lodge Corner in his 1972 Surtees TS11. The TS11 was built for Formula 5000 racing and Gijs van Lennep won the 1972 Rothmans European Formula 5000 Championship driving one of these cars. Gregory Thornton's car is recorded in this oldracingcars.com car history as 'the John Yandell car'.

Historic Formula Ford

I took this photograph at Brittens chicane on the first lap of the Historic Formula Ford race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2017.
Leading is Dan Eagling in his 1969 Lotus 61MX from Michael Wrigley in a 1970 Lotus 59. The following cars are Kevin Stanzl's 1971 Crossle 20F, Gregory Thornton's 1967 Titan Mk3/4, Cormac Flanagan's 1968 Alexis Mk14, and you can just see the nose of the 1971 Merlyn Mk20 of  Tim Brise.
