1991 Chevrolet Intrepid RM-1

I took this photograph at McLean's Corner during practice for the Group C/GTP Sports Car Race at the Vintage Sports Car Club's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2007.

It's Brian Devries in the 1991 Chevrolet Intrepid RM-1 that was developed for IMSA Racing which mainly took place in the USA, with a few races in Canada. The Intrepid competed in the series in 1991, 1992 and 1993, but its only victory was in the Nissan Grand Prix du Mardi on the streets of New Orleans in 1991. The car was built with a 439 cu in (7.2 litres) V8 Chevrolet engine, but the programme of the Donington Park meeting doesn't give the engine sizes of the cars in this race.

Group C/GTP Sports Cars

This is a photograph of the leaders rounding Redgate Corner at the start of the Group C/GTP Sports Car Race during the SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2007.

Leading is Justin Law in his 7 litre V12 1990 Jaguar XJR-12 and alongside him is the 3 litre flat-six twin turbo Porsche 962C 0f Mark Sumpter. Behind the Jaguar is the 7.2 litre V8 1991 Intrepid RM-1 of Brian Devries and further back the dark blue car is the 3.5 litre V8 1990 Nissan R90C of Nick Randall. At the rear is the V8 1990 Spice SE90 Chevrolet of Fredy Kumschick and behind the Porsche is another car, but I can't make out what it is.

Intrepid RM-1

This car took part in the Group C/GTP Sports Cars race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2007.

It's the 1991 Intrepid RM-1 of Brian Devries, built to contest the GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) series of races. It has a 439 cu in (7.2 litres) Chevrolet small-block V8 engine and competed in the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons.

Porsche 962C

On 19 May 2015 I showed a photograph of a Porsche 962C taking part in a race for Group C/GTP Sports Cars at the SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2005. Here's another photograph of one of these cars, this time at the Donington Park SeeRed meeting of September 2007.

This time it's the Porsche 962C which was due to be driven in the Group C/GTP Sports Car race by Mark Sumpter and Mike Jordan.
