Cooper Climax T45

This car is pictured in the paddock at Aintree in April 1960 where it took part in the BARC 200 race for Formula 2 cars.
It's the Scuderia Centro Sud Cooper Climax T45 and was driven in the race by Maurice Trintignant, finishing in fifth place. It's the ex-Rob Walker car and is chassis #F2-9-58.

Jean Behra

Here's a photograph take during practice for the BARC 200 race at Aintree in April 1958.
It's French racing driver Jean Behra who qualified his BRM P25 in pole position, but retired from the race with brake problems.

BRM P25

This is a photograph taken in the paddock during practice for the BARC 200 race at Aintree in April 1958.
It's the BRM P25 of Jean Behra, who started in pole position but retired on lap 28 of the 67 lap race with brake problems. The race was won by Stirling Moss in Rob Walker's Cooper-Climax T45.

Porsche 718

On 15th October 2013 I showed a photograph of the two works Porsche 718s that finished in second and third positions in the BARC 200 race at Aintree in April 1960, and here's the car that won the race.
It's Rob Walker's Porsche 718 which was driven to victory in the race by Stirling Moss. This site about scalextric slot cars gives you some information about the car.

Jaguar E-type

This is another of those old Kodak Brownie 127 photographs taken at Aintree, but I don't know in this instance at which meeting it was taken - it's probably the BARC 200 meeting in 1961, but could have been the 1962 event.
It's a 1961 Jaguar E-type, and it's the one in which Graham Hill won on the car's first outing, at Oulton Park in April 1961. I don't think it actually competed at this Aintree event.

Connaught B type

This is another of those old Kodak Brownie 127 photographs, this time from the BARC 200 race at Aintree in April 1958.
It's a Connaught B type, chassis B3, entered by Bernie Eccleston who had bought two cars from the disbanded Connaught team, this one being driven to 14th place in the race by Paul Emery. This photograph was taken on the Friday practice day and the number 14 was still on the car from the Easter Monday Glover Trophy race two weeks earlier at Goodwood. In the Aintree race the car was number 6. The car has the famous 'toothpaste-tube' body and the truncated nose which was used in the Monaco Grand Prix to reduce the possibility of damage in that crowded street race.

Porsche 718

These are the two works Porsche 718 formula two cars pictured in the paddock at the 1960 BARC 200 race at Aintree 200. I think the photographs were probably taken during practice as the number 5 car on the right doesn't yet have the number on its nose. That car was driven by Graham Hill and finished third in the race. The number 6 car was driven by Jo Bonnier who finished second and the race was won by yet another Porsche 718, Rob Walker's car, driven by Stirling Moss.
