This is a car I saw recently on a supermarket car park when I was doing the weekly shop in Hyde.
It's a 1955 Austin A30 and has a 4-cylinder inline 1,098cc engine. Over 200,000 Austin A30s were produced between 1951 and 1956 before it was replaced by the more powerful A35 - the original A30 had an 803cc engine and this car seems to have the larger capacity engine used by the A35. The external differences between the two cars were that the A35 had a larger rear window and a painted grille instead of the A30's chrome one. The A30 also had semaphore trafficators in the B pillars whilst the A35 had front and rear flashing lights.
