I took this photograph at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1994.
It's one of the three Alfa Romeo BAT cars produced between 1953 and 1955, BAT 5, BAT 7 and BAT 9, and this is the 1955 car, BAT 9, with BAT 5 on the left and BAT 7 on the right. They were part of the Coys auction which was held on the Saturday evening of the weekend-long meeting. The BAT here stands for Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica and the cars were built in a joint project by Alfa Romeo
and the Italian coachbuilding firm Bertone, being largely the brainchild of Franco Scaglione of Bertone.
