This car was driven by Noel Cunningham-Reid in the sports car race at the British Grand Prix meeting at Silverstone in July 1956.
It's one of the two HWM Jaguars built by George Abecassis and John Heath in 1955, XPE 2, chassis #025 being George's car and John Heath's was given the number HWM 1. After John Heath's fatal accident in the 1956 Mille Miglia George Abecassis gave up racing and the car was campaigned for the rest of that season, and the next two years by Noel Cunningham-Reid, Peter Blond and Roy Bloxham.
