This is a photograph I took at Aintree on the Friday practice day for the 1959 British Grand Prix.
It's Carroll Shelby's Aston Martin DBR4/250 which he qualified in sixth place on the grid and ended the race in eleventh place. His team mate Roy Salvadori was in second position on the grid and sixth in the race. The car was never a success, having being overtaken by the rear-engined revolution before it made its debut.
